question regarding domain - subdomain for unrelated site

Hi I have a question for building a few sites.

the structure will be:

UnrelatedSite1.MainDomain.com

UnrelatedSite2.MainDomain.com

Main domain will be developed as well as the subdomains.

Question is will this hurt google ranking or is it irrelevant?

Subdomain is considered different site, so I don't think it will affect the other subdomain.

 

Do you plan to interlink them?

 

It may hurt google ranking if all subdomain sites have the same structure, poor quality and some other factors only google knows.
I happened to me several times so it is only my experience.

 

if you keep main domain and sub-domains separate (i mean without any link exchange) , it is not going to hurt your ranking.

How about if the sites are related AND interlinked? Good , bad or indifferent?
