Do freewebs sites count as backlinks?

Does each separate freewebs site, or any free web hoster site for that matter, do the sites there count as individual sites? Like, does freewebs.com/hello count as a different site than freewebs.com/hi. And if I can get links from those kinds of sites, are they even worth anything, as in, does Google even count them, or do they have any effect? I ask this because I can get a lot of links from those kinds of sites, but I'm not going to put the effort into it if it doesn't matter.

Its hard to say for sure. Google may have devalued the links from sites like that. Or, maybe you have found a new tool for your arsenal.

Only way to know is to try. Get some links for your sites and see what happens.

Free websites actually say a lot, there are actually lot of things to be taken into consideration!
    • Are the domains Banned by Google ?
    • Is the host blacklisted and included in spam sources ?
    Google Might consider
    • Are there too many links coming to your site from the same Free host with maybe different subdomains?
    • Are they hosters of link farms ?
    • Is there some quality content in the page from where the link is coming ?
    • Is the page indexed ?
Then there are also generalised requirements, that are to be taken into consideration while link building!
Only then you have to go ahead and get links from any source

    Yes.
Well that depends on how valuable each individual site is. If there are a lot of backlinks to it and it has a high PR, then yes it would be to your advantage to get a link on it (even better if the site is on your topic). But, if the site has little to no backlinks and has a very low PR, then I wouldn't bother with it (it might actually harm you).

Wait, how does getting links from a site with no backlinks hurt you? I don't understand that.

What do you mean by that? You mean it is not possible to get listed in google for free hosted sites?
