Google PR

I have payed little attention to the PR (Page Rank) factor of Google's algorythm in previous years but it can not be ignored. It has alot to do with "domain authority". I know my websites will get beyond PR3 but I am EXTREMLEY diversified. I dabble in over 120 markets/niches.
Let me know your view on the "PR" factor PLEASE.

Many will surely say... "forget about it" and better focus on higher search result rankings...

Realistically.. you can't 'focus' on building a good PR.

You need to focus on developing a quality website with genuine content that will continue to keep your visitors coming back to your website.

Do this and PR will come naturally.

You can focus SERP's, maintain the quality content, on-page optimization.

PR also matter but we should only pay our full attention on website traffic.
if you have lots of traffic then PR will automatically increase.

Did google reduce the importance of pr earlier this year?

The question is the old chicken and the egg thing. Do you get more traffic because of your pr or do you get more pr because of your traffic?

It doesn't make sense! Pr doesn't affect your traffic and vice versa. Link is the only factor that affect PR.

Jessie James is right. PR doesn't influence the traffic because PR depends on how many incoming links you have.

incoming link is the google pr fact! ok
i have got a site has almost 300000 incoming links but it hold the pr 1.
    how could u analyze it.

if u want to improve ur pr rather then traffic then get a few high pr sites and create back link from a higher linked page.
remember not from the directory, resource or something like links....

i think it will work fine.

I can't understand why the whole world is mad after PR. I Think we should pay our full attention on our website & what is our motto in making that website. What we want from website & if are getting that then how it matters it is our PR.

    Regards

It's all about perception I guess. When people buy, sell or link exchange with web sites pr is a factor in their decision. Even though pr doesn't really have any effect on how much money from technical point.

IMO PR is all about status. It's like buying a BMW or buying a Ford....both do the same job but the BMW has the status. Websites can still have traffic and make you money, but dont need a high PR (the status).

Some see PR is a measure of your success, I see how much cash you can make as a measure of success. :)

The only thing a Ford will do that a BMW will is get you somewhere, and most of the time it can't even accomplish that.

PR has been sold by google to be authority, therefore it stands as authority. So everyone that thinks about PR thinks authority whether you guys do or not.

Sometimes good advice is not found through a webmaster site because you are not neccessarilly getting the 'majority' of advice.

Do you NEED a high pr? i guess not? if you sell links for PR you need high pr, if you sell links for traffic you need high traffic.
PR is the first at a glance way ot judge a site tho and you have to admit that. You would have to give someone all kinds of info about your site to get advertising, but you will get emails all day long from people if you have a good PR site usually

PR Does not mean a thing if you are not ranking high in the SERPs.

PR takes on more importance if you are wanting to sell some advertising on your site. Advertisers are looking for sites with a decent PR partly because of the juice it gives them back.

Apart from that, I`d concentrate more on getting your site seen with keywords on the top Search Engine pages.

I own a PR6 website, the way I've done it - update your content on a weekly basis with new non duplicate content and make sure you have a constant stream of one way unpaid links running in the background, Over a year I went from a PR3 to a PR6, also having a better PR will increase crawl rate, thus you will be able to upload content and get it ranked far quicker!
