Yup they've been up since Friday I believe. This is the next evolution in online searches. Sites should be geared towards content as opposed to ads and black hat seo tricks.
It is more on personalized results you can edit. Everything will be back to normal when you sign out.
This is definitely cool. I thought I was seeing that before I was logged into my google webmaster account.
im not sure if its such a good thing....If a potential customer hits the x instead of the up button...wouldnt that hid the listing from them, and i wonder...will this effect Google's algorithm in any way? Could this be a new way for google to rank sites?
This isn't a good idea, as far as I'm concerned. They should've tried it in Google Experimental first, not let it run on the real thing right away.
From what I've seen so far, hitting the x only pushes the result to the bottom of the page. It doesn't disappear completely. I agree this would be a problem otherwise. I don't think this will affect the SERPS in any way but maybe it's a glimpse of the future. When Cuil was released, one of their key selling points was that results would be based on how many people click on the results which will help to determine ranking. Maybe google wants to do the same?
Can anyone here help me how I can see this option when I make a search on Google. I'm not `able to see new search options even if I'm logged in
I believe it's a glitch on some accounts that Google is currently trying to fix. http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/11/22/google-searchwiki-vanishes/
