Riddle me this: In the title tag of a webpage , if I use: part time jobs london, will that be viewed in the same way as: part time jobs london or will the comma that is in place mean that it won't rank as well as it could do without the comma? I could use: part time jobs london , to be safe, but I'm the fussy type, and don't like the way it looks... Anybody done any research on this?
google is smart enuf to know the difference between these, ive never noticed a drop in rankings when ive changed the title construction, i done an experiment on it a few times as I was really curious about this too
I agree that the comment shouldn't matter. If you are concerned, you can separate multiple phrases with - or |.
It won't matter to the search engines, but you also need to keep in mind the people who will be using the site. Are you writing your page titles for them (while keeping the search engines in mind) or for the search engines at the expense of your users?
Agree! ... and that's exactly why I want to format it properly (as in the first option). I hate sites where the grammar and formatting is 'stilted' because it's obviously been keyword stuffed instead of written for users. My approach is always to start with the user and then try and tweak where possible
I haven't tried adding commas on the title tag on my blog like what you have mentioned. I think it's not a good way to do it since it's really important that the title should be also user-friendly.
Google or any search engines ignore "," or axillary verb in searches but if you use that in anchor with hyper link then it will be count as space and this will be harmful.
