i found this really strange. this site have pr zero and still beats some other sites of pr 3 and 4 and makes it to number 1 in google search results for "lucky bamboo". the site is http://www.lucky-bamboo.com/ ok you may say that PR have nothing to so with SERP but then what has this site done to get to no.1 .Even link: in google shows zero results (though in msn it shows around 230). does anyone know whats going on here?
i dont know why this happens, i not an exper to say, but i found another page with PR 4 ww. lucky-bamboo.com /luckybambooinfo. htm
maybe be due to keyword dencity he have 10.8% dencity in the body 12.5% dencity for links the second site has 2.1% dencity in the body 3.9% dencity for links
wow! let me check that again! BTW how did u come up with these figure? did u use SEOELITE or some other tool? i m impressed
*Toolbar PR is not indicative of actual or current PR. *Search results are not ordered by PR - many lower PR pages rank above pages with higher PR. *Google has changed the way they display results for the link: command. They only display a sampling of the backlinks (that are not current), so it may not list any results for some sites.
Most of my sites are PR0 and beat a bunch of PR5 and 4 to being #1. PR doesn't play a HUGE role as compared to keyword placement.
You only see Google toolbar PR, not the real PR of the site. PR is calculated in real-time but you will see it months later, as soon as they update the toolbar PR. It's easy as that. I can beat 99% of sites up to PR7 with my PR0 sites. Why? Because I link from a PR9 site. So next time you see my PR0 site beating yours, just read this thread PR is still the most important factor in Googles algo.
WOw man... It;s really great. i think keyword n ur site name is same so it's coming on top "lucky bamboo"
It's because your site has the term in it's URL and also has the most links to the page with the term 'lucky bamboo' on the anchor text, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=allinanchor:lucky+bamboo&btnG=Google+Search
I get your point. But thats what comes to my mind that isn't the same off page optimization methods that benefits a page in making to the top of search result also benefits in PR. Of course there are many things like onpage seo and anchor text that are important. So is it true that 5 backlinks with your anchor text is better then 50 backlinks WITHOUT your anchor txt. ps: i wish i had some seo tool to analyse these sites in more detail
Of course it is, that's nothing new. Backlinks without your anchore text are almost useless when it comes to ranking sites for competitive terms.
i think the sites that have higher pr are less relevant and therefore you come out on top. try getting such ranking for highly competitive search terms. "lucky bamboo" must be a very rare search term. do you actually get traffic from google? that would be a better indicator as to your success
I think they will do well ONPAGE and OFFPAGE well in search terms lucky bamboo. If you see on page a keyword density for lucky bamboo is 30.6% and prominence is 55.1 as well as link density is 26.5% link prominence is 14.7%. They not use any content on there first page. As well as on there home page 46 External link (internal links including images) and back link for home page is 0. There domain is carried keyword it self and domain name register for 9 years so, it’s work. If you see the OFFPAGE structure you will find that they use 90% of link for lucky bamboo as anchor text. But no back link in Google. I think they will use some spam technique. Really it’s strange.
Google doesn't show and backlinks, it doesn't mean it doesn't know of any and take them into account.
Ya i know if you show http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-49,GGLG:en&q=@www.lucky-bamboo.com in google your will find 60 page which are link back to it. My quetion is it's a spamming or not because high keyword in anchor text as well as on website??
I'm No 1 for "Ubuntu Podcast" and i have no PR yet. The site that actually hosts the Ubuntu Podcast is 2nd lol
