guys suppose you are taking a interview of a SEO then which qualities and specialties will u check. share your views
this is a difficult question, you should always check their portfolio of successful sites, and ask them to complete an analysis of a site if you feel they miss anything important you dont give them the job, if they write down exactly what you would do, and you feel they have a portfolio you like, then hire the guy everyone works slightly differently in this field as no one has "all the answers" if it works for them it works

I always find the following qualities while taking an interview for SEO person... - Passion (he/she must have passion as SEO is long process and need passion to see the result) - He must like research and able to adept new techniques, SEO strategies will get change as per the change in technology and algorithms. apart from above things..i ask some important questions and case study about real life problems in some sites. that will help me to evaluate knowledge of the candidate.
You will probably be asked about your current experience (ie: the scale of projects worked on), what you did and some methods that you have found useful. They may also quiz your marketing skills, ie: How do you go about gaining links within your niches? Make sure you explain the processes of why some things work well for SEO, what affects a sites rankings, and let the employers know that your core understanding of SEO practices is strong.
I would give the person 2 websites to analyze asking what has been done till date and what could be done to improve more. Real life exercises count more. That way I will be judging the person's instant knowledge.
I know seo is not standard solution. Pls give me some standard or pre-standard so that any person without seo knowledge can judge seo efficiency .
Mainly, I'd ask of what he has done in the past and if he really excels in SEO or if he can do the job well. But you also have to feel good about the person. Sometimes, it's not enough that he is good for the job. The professional relationship that you are about to have also matters so you can easily talk about his tasks and what you want to happen to your business and he, in return, can always feel comfortable talking to you and suggesting new ideas to further improve your business.

I always look for -- (1) Dept of knowledge, the core base of seoing any site (2) past results (3) Handling seo of any site as a project, how he handle it. (4) how updated and informed he is (5) how many backup plans he can have in situation of bad results even efforts applied were great.
