Tried and True Method for Making Money in Affiliate Marketing

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by sivle, Nov 25, 2008.

There are so many different techniques to make money online these days.

    Examples:

    Polls and PPC
    Banner Ads
    Blogs
    Article Marketing
    Building a large site
    Building niche "mini sites"
    ...and more

Is there any particular method that seems to work best for long term income? I guess the question would be, if you were going to tell your friend to get into this game, what method would you suggest they use that would allow them to eventually make a full time income from affiliate marketing?

I would tell them that ecommerce is a good way to go but does require an upfront investment financially. The best way to think of websites are like brick and mortar companies that are built in the middle of nowhere. People aren't just going to come, you have to build nice pretty signs and lead people to your website using various methods.

I would tell them that there is money to be made, but that it's not easy, they will have to actually work at it and it takes consistency, consistency, consistency!

Funny, I just posted an article on my website about this very subject "How To Find Your Niche, Affiliate Product, Talent". I would say, "think about things that interest you and things that you enjoy talking with others about." Narrow your selection down to one or two and get feedbacks from others that share an interest in your selection.

Most from search engines and forums by planning and setting goals.

For me, search engines and forums have all ways been the fastest and easiest way to drive traffic to your site.

    My 1st steps have been:
Add fresh new content to my site daily for the search engines to scan.
Comment on forums, blogs, etc to drive target traffic to my site.
But these are just a few things.

affiliate marketing is the best :):D I mean, sure U can be a wale (entrepreneur) but who wants to have some angry costumers to deal with? :D What I want to say is that it's much easier to be an affiliate than an entrepreneur or an adsense jockey :D

Great point, not to mention you can still make hundreds of thousands of dollars with just one affiliate site; not having to worry about shipping anything OR dealing with customers... All you have to do is work on SEO and marketing and the money will role in...

You can still be an entrepreneur and be an affiliate... In fact, I am fixing to hire some staff to expand into a larger company that will maintain and manage multiple profitable affiliate sites..

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE... I wish everyone well (unless your my competitor) haha. Happy Early Thanksgiving!

I would advise my friend to first look around on what can bring them a long term income after they have invested money, time and efforts to promote a product/service via an affiliate program.

Then, after they have definded the products/services along with the merchants that offer affiliate marketing. They should ask those merchants on what methods they can recommend. It's on their benefit that they tell you on what methods you should focus on.

    Cheers,
