    I've been meaning to buy a new one. I got a gift card for my birthday but i just can't decide which one to pick. Theres an Olympus SW series which is shockproof, waterproof, dustproof, etc but i'm looking for a camera that takes quick shots. That's why im getting a new one. I have an older Kodak which is nice but it takes like 3-4 seconds in between shots.

    brain freeze...what is the site I was using back in Dec/Jan?

    ahh Stickam! Daisy needs a Sk account :D

    I think my friend just bought of those Olympus ones. He's taken it swimming already that's all I know :p

    that's the HUGE disadvantage of not having a DSLR...shutter lag. Shutter lag is like dying of death with P&S cameras. I should research if there is one that is the fastest of it's class but then again I'm sure if it's fast you're spending 82% + of what a DSLR would cost!

    I have a Nikon D200 which is an amazing camera. It is a Digital SLR and I have used it to shoot weddings, which I have shot for my friends. Great results.

    Specifications:

    * Model Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG
    * Focal length 12-24mm
    * Max aperture F/4.5-5.6
    * Min aperture f/22
    * Construction 16/12 elements/groups
    * Angle of view 122-84.1°(Full frame)
    * Min Focus 0.28m
    * Dimensions 87x102.5mm
    * Weight 0.6kg

    This is the one lens I wish to heck I had a full frame sensor. So instead of 12-24mm, my 1.6 crop makes it 19-38mm. Which is still within the realms of being wide angle (<35mm) but I can only imagine the field of view being that much more so with another 7mm+

    This is a beast of a lens though, it makes the Canon 10-22 lens look like a toy.

    It is an amazingly fun/addictive lens to shoot with though. It's crazy how much you can fit into the frame with it. Even with it running @ the cropped 19mm, you can basically fit entire rooms in the field of view indoors and outdoors it can span entire buildings with ease.

    The only shame is that I don't use it more often!

    The next item up for bid is my macro lens...and if you know anything about me and what I shoot, you'll know this ism a very often used lens!

    This is a true macro lens of course. Allowing you to achieve 1:1 magnification ratios. Whereas for instance a lot of zoom lens also have a macro function @ the highest mm value, like 200 or 300mm but the BIG difference being that the macro magnification is only 1:3 or even 1:4.

    I like canon digital camera.The image quality is excellent,takes less power and gives maximum pictures. It's more comfortable with them.

    This is a lens accessory (and not a very good one :p)

    I bought it mostly for shooting the moon I think.

    It is a Kenko(Tokina) 3x tele converter. Both of the OEM ones (that being Canon) are only 1.4 and 2x converters. This makes them have less reach but also they have better optical quality.

    The kicker is that my Canon 70-200mm/4 does not work with the 3X with my 40D. It worked perfectly with my XTi but for some reason the 40D does not communicate through it. Someone mentioned that I might have to tape some contacts in order for it to work (I almost forgot that!).

    So it's more of a fun/novelty piece than a full fledged 'must have' sort of thing.
