Is this Google search results raising slow or fast?

for a keyword has 5,700,000 result pages from google searching
this site rank reports:
11/12/2008 none
11/21/2008 rank# 518
11/23/2008 rank# 427
we can see the rank is going up.
My Question: I don't know is it slow or fast in general?

It seems fast, but gaining ground is extremely easy when you are beyond the 2nd or 3rd results page. The pages you are passing simply aren't optimized for your keyword. You won't really know what kind of progress you're making until you crack the top 20 - 30. Once you get there it will become progressively tougher to improve your ranking.
