You can check your advanced reports to see how much you are making from site targeted ads. I wrote this blog post about how to check your stats a few months ago. It should help you figure out whether it is worth it or not to have them disabled.

Not to drag this one out further, but another Saturday brings another load of crap. The 'new' sites started in the morning and basically had taken over between going out for breakfast and coming home. Same stuff. Lots of new domains.
I had the same problem and it took me a few days of constantly checking my pages to see the new ads that popped up after I filtered the old ones. What annoys me is that they displace ads that can actually be relavent to the page. That's why I blocked them. The list below is working good for me. I'm now seeing more targeted ads come back. They'll probably be gone in a month or so. Wow you guys are dumb. You do realize the only reason they are "taking" over is because they are providing the highest ecpm? They wouldn't show up as frequent otherwise. But good job blocking good performing ads and earning less.
thezou - Ahh-ha-ha-ha! Funny, but almost true. They provide the highest BID, but not the highest ecpm, due to reduced CTR. I just removed them all from my filter list. Let 'em duke it out for top spot! It does drop my CTR though, which I really, really don't like, because it drops my overall EPC. By the way, Costco has highly concentrated Bolthouse brand Acai juice at a great price in the cooler section. This is not the watered down stuff sold by other vendors. It is FAAAAR too strong for me. I mix 1 part juice with 2 parts water, hold it up to the light, and I STILL can't see any light come through it! I drink it daily, so this is a real bargain. Give it a try. And no, I don't have any Acai sites. Ha-ha-ha. . .
Bullshit. You got no idea how Adwords works, but that's fine, that's why you are on DP. Oh and I don't know where you get the bad CTR from, CTR is actually pretty good. But yeah, like I said, enjoy the "relevant" (lol, relevant is what people think is relevant) ads and lower earnings.
If you have a site related to food, say a recipe site, then weight loss ads aren't that effective so you will have a lower CTR. The larger issue is that they are manipulating the Adsense network by creating hundreds of domains that are selling the same product. This is done to avoid people blocking the ads by domain. These ads could pay $100 per click but if no one clicks on them (which is what my experience is) they do no good for me. My CTR and daily revenue has increased since I started clearning these sites out.
Yeah. Because the ads are off-topic, my CTR on these pages has dropped to less than 1/4 of what it was, before these ads came along.
