This is a great list! Thanks so much for posting this. I especially like the fact about mistakes and trial and error. Sometimes it feels when you make mistakes, you're the only one in the world who does... good to know we are all human.

    HI

The best secret.... is to start now .... because if you do not start now you will never start...

Also focus.. on getting your main things done first before you move on to the next thing.

Over all this is a great thread.

    Thanks all

    Tom

Dont look at others earning , and you will see the more you work on your site instead of looking at others the more money will start rolling.

My 2 cents -- if you're going to get educated, learn HOW TO SELL and apply that knowledge to your chosen craft. Nearly all money is earned, at some point, through a sales process. Whether you're selling online or door-to-door, never underestimate the power of a good sales funnel.

In my opinion the most important thing is to be actually good at doing something (coding, design, writing, anything).
From there you can start building your online business. And don't waste too much time reading "secrets to make money online" :D

I do find in interesting that when all is said and done, it basically comes done to the same principles that have defined successful businesses since the era of modern capitalism. I agree with a lot of the new posts here. Basically, sales is all about good product, good rep, trust, and dealing with integrity. No one should think it is easy. I have been in the work force for 17 years, have some good accomplishments and some not so good, but you learn from it. Yes, be good at something, anything, and do it as well as with as much passion as you can. You don't need a book for that.

Education is valuable I don't think anyone could argue that. I like ErikJ's thinking. 80% of any successful business is marketing and sales. Yes, programming, content and designing all have their place. However, if no one knows your message then all those things are worthless.

You welcome Julito. If you ask anyone that is successful today (both internet marketing related and non related) if they had done any mistakes you will find out that 99% of them made mistakes. Some of them have done serious mistakes. Anyway the secret is to make "small mistakes" and learn from them!

Agree. It is all about the 80/20 rule. Generally a business should concentrate 20% on programming, content, design and 80% on effective marketing.

Agree. Do not try to be perfect! Before you finish that little detail you will find out that something else need to get changed and you need to start from the beginning.
Lets say you were thinking to start a social network website. You were working on the designing, programming etc for the last 2 years. You are having new ideas daily. The website will also have this and that. You spend 6 more months on that. During these months you had more ideas and more ideas on that project but never went live. What is the result? Just think what if Mark Zuckerberg was trying to be perfect before launching Facebook or Shawn Hogan the owner of this forum. None of us would be able to find friends on Facebook or post thread on this forum etc.

However you will need to get organized before starting but remember. If everything you do on your business is organization you will not make any money! So Start Now!
