Parked/redirect Website, will it harm my site, while under development

Our new website is currently under development, and the domain is parked and redirects to 123-reg.co.uk....

Our site is indexed by google and has links pointing to it.

Will this harm, be penalized by google or even de-index our website from google?

Yes, it will probably damage your rankings in google and could lead to it being removed from the index. Why did you feel the need to redirect it? That's a really bad idea, couldent you just have built the other site on a different domain (or folder) and transferred it over as and when it was necessary? I strongly suggest you get rid of the redirect asap.

Just to let you know, the site is brand new and has never had a ranking on google, it's link was picked up by google three weeks ago from our other site and index the domain. We are worried that it might effect future ranking when it's launched in one week.

from what i have heard is that if you do a 301 redirect to the site, you are ok. But just to be safe is that i would try to make unique content on both domains then link to the new domain so that they get spidered.

Using a 301 redirect will still make the original site get delisted. If its a new site that has no SERP's it wont really matter then, I thought we were talking about an aged website.

I have partked domains with 301 redirects to my main site. Have had them for 10+ years, with no problems. These are just domains I registered becuade they were similar to the main domain. They have no content.
