My dear this depends on your interest. Each and every field is having great scope either you are in hardware, software, mulitmedia, internet marketing, seo, or priting but the thing is you mush have zeal to have it. SEO is the world best career for me and I can earn millions and billions from this. If you cant then it does not mean we cant.

SEO and PPC are Different term However these are Branch of Search Engine Marketing Profession, Once you called SEO it is Organic Search Engine Optimization where you dont have paid to search engines or get paid for ranking where in PPC you have to pay for every click that comes through Search Engine Sponsered Results
i think that ther is future in SEO- probably not as it is today but it will change. So if you want to have a future in it, you need to be willing to change with it. just my $0.2
Yes SEO has future for those who have passion to learn. Nobody knows about the future, but it won't go out but it would evolve. And so would SEOs In simple words SEO is optimization and SEM is marketing. Organic search is an example of SEO and PPC is for SEM. Cheers
