Does your signature and Avatar really work for you ?

I have been a member of DP for a while now and I have never taken advantage of sig and avatar options available to me here because I always thought its a waste of time Do you guys really get a good response from your avatar and sig ? if yes how many a day on average?

 

Forum signature ( if DoFollow )- for traffic and backlinks
Forum signature ( if NoFollow ) - for traffic
Avatar - for branding purposes.

Its like the add revenue sharing. If you are going to be a member of DP and participate in the forum... why not?

If your sig link is webmaster related you will get some traffic, especially if you are posting in related threads. The backlinks don't hurt either.

Set it up and give it a try.

 

I have gotten a few visits to my site from posting here with my signature. I also have good luck on other forums too. I figure even if I only get one visitor it's worth the 2 minutes or so it takes to put the signature together.

 

you will only get good visit from your sig/avatars if you have a good post counts and a quality posts

 

Is it depend how active you are, i'm getting around 30 visitor per day from DP

Quality is key... I'll look at the sig of a person if I liked what they said in a post, otherwise I pretty much ignore them.

Sig Blindness is a big issue especially on sites like DP. So drawing attention to the sig can really help.

Post counts help for bots more then people unless all of your posts are worthy of being read, so that goes back to quality...

All in all though, sigs really do more in the way of traffic, especially if the sig is related to the forum you are posting on. As in, when I am at DP I generally am in the webmaster mindset, so I'm more inclined to click through a webmaster sig over something like an auto site... however, look up the auto keywords in my sig... they all have TOP SERP... though the traffic they are getting from DP itself is all indirect, as I'm sure not many click them here as the people reading this post are interested in forum sigs then getting new headlights for their car.

Yes the signature & avatar are very good for other members to see your links.

 

I get a few clicks every now and then. Its not really consistent and I'm not getting any real quality traffic, I don't think. But hey, thats fine, it is still some type of traffic and if it ever converts, then it was worth the time spent adding them.

 

Every single referral I've got to any of my affiliate networks via DP signature link has ended up getting their account deactivated for fraudulent activity. Sad, but true.

 

Could you use a middle man page for such a thing? As in linking to another site which sells your affiliate referral link? Though, I guess that line of thought is a bit off topic, so if it's worthy of discussion start a new thread...

On a more related note though I guess that is some valuable information in the way of hether a sig is worthy or not, as if it'll get you banned from a network, then it's likely not worthy of putting in your sig. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Currently I never sold my avatar, but maybe gotta try that too

A person with 4k posts here on DP sold his signature for 110$ per month... so it can be nice
I mostly don't use it for my things... only if there is a new action from me which I want to promote

The traffic from the forums is not converting for my site untill now. Waste of time.
