Hi, All DP member I feel that When I am start work in directory submission so,most important factor is category. It is true
Submit only top URL is also important, Anyway if your site don't meet the general guidelines like sexal, drug or gambling, You will also get approvement.
Something i didn't really think about, it's a pain when you manually submit aswell because there is usually 100's!
I'd say most important is that you have a good quality, content-rich site with a reasonable amount of ads. Part and parcel of editing a submission is placing it in the editor's choice of category.
Just submitting to directories under relevant category is matter. You shouldn't submit your site under any irrelevant category just because that category is hot.
absolute you are right. if you are not choose proper category then your link may be decline. so it is most important factor.
Agreed, I would expect a directory out for the best and most related content to do this. For example, if Ford submits to your directory under the category "mustangs" the Mustang section of the Ford website would be much more relevant than the home page requiring the user to then navigate to where you already know they want to go. I understand directory owners requiring top level submissions to make it easier to weed out the spammers that just create a sub page about anything to get a link, but those sites shouldn't be in the directory in the first place.
Tis a shame this post got lost in the discussion by the pot smoking, grammar-impaired. I don't care if your URL matches the category name and all of the Adsense ads match it too, none of that matters if the site is garbage. I also agree that an editor has the responsibility to ensure that the listing is in the appropriate place. Would have given green but I'm over my quota right now for you.
By right the directory owner will move it to a better category, but some wont, in the wrong category i dont believe it will do any harm but it probably wont give you any benefit either by being placed incorrectly.
