OK, I got your attention, basically I want to share what I've done to a site I created (it took 30 minutes) did no link building but it is ranked on the first page of Google and has a PR of 3! I got some hosting, got a free word press theme template on the niche that has 475,000 competitors, added some text and uploaded the site to the hosting company - that's it. I left it and by chance I went back 4 months later to find the site on Googles first page for the keyphrase I targeted and the site has a PR3! All it took was 30 minutes everything else was free...now I will build links via article directories, Social bookmarking, blog commenting and I will report back in a few months, to give you an update. So there is no excuse for not getting your site onto Google! Go and do it!
"So there is no excuse for not getting your site onto Google! Go and do it!" That is a very stupid statement to make when all you have is an example of one website to back it up. "did no link building but it is ranked on the first page of Google and has a PR of 3!" You many not have done any link building, but there are links pointing to your site, otherwise you would not have any PR at all. It is likely people have found your site useful enough to link to and thus the PR.
So that's the secret! Just throw up a site and do no work on it for months! Hey, wait, that's what I've been doing all along...
You may be skeptical, but that's what I did and that's the results I got, unlike others on DP, I am not selling any SEO services..... Well if you're so clever, you'll know that when you add content to a word press blog, it auto pings, hence the fast crawl. T Media, I suggest you stick to painting the Humber bridge...
Oh, I wasn't being sceptical, it was more like, "why all the effort then" - actually, I do think the above scenario is quite possible and that all this "SEO" is just getting out of hand.
There seem to be some common sense things that need doing, either on page or off page, and none of them require any special knowledge. I started by reading the guidelines that Google themselves published, and by some strange coincidence I noticed that most of the SEO experts were suggesting the same things; but writing in a way that suggests they have some special knowledge. Now I don't bother trying to mimic the SEO people, I follow Google's guidelines and everything seems to be working, my site is less than three weeks old and showing up in the search results. If any SEO can tell me why this is the wrong approach, and more importantly suggest something else to do to improve my ranking I'll listen but...
Oh no, I'm not skepitical that you actually got the rank. It's just that you made some stupid statements that really highlight your lack of experience. If you're going to show people how to rank better, you can't teach them off the back of one particular experience. You need plenty of experience on other projects before you can be definitive. You make out that anyone can simply throw up a website in 30 minutes and woopty do they'll get high rankings and a PR of 3, I can assure you this is not the case, otherwise people wouldn't use SEO services. I think you owe me an apology for your crude insult.
What colour paint do you want....only joking! I was just making a point, there are too many people making SEO the black art, I've even had people try to charge me £1,000's for services that would cost pennies. I was trying to make the whole SEO secret easy for people to understand, if you design sites in Hull, you'll know the HUGE effect blogs have and how they are regarded in Googles eyes. Newbies try SEO and get frightened with all the nay sayers...need I say more? I TRIED IT AND I REPORTED ON MY SUCCESS or Luck whichever it was.
Building links its black hat dont do it, they should come natural! Just joking. Actually I think this is the way google wants sites to rank, naturally. I think the secret is content that people will want to link to. All we have to do is pretend its natural and go build some links lol.
I think geester is absolutely right when we talk about revenue but still the thing requires both luck and skill, so do not fight guys & yes , We do need SEO Services even now .hihihi
