Actual me too I prefer Windows xp, but it were that Windows NT could be available in latest version I would go for it.
I'm still using XP and have had very few problems since SP2 came out. At the moment I have no plan to change to Vista, maybe in the new year
I am currently using XP but Vista is not that bad, I will upgrade to the ultivate vista when I upgrade my hardware also.
XP was the first OS I used. I tried 2 beta versions of vista before it was released, this is the reason I f@cken hate it, nero wasnt compatible with the system, I couldn't burn a copy of XP to have a properly working machine. I don't know how nice you think the desktop enviroment of vista is is, but I learned every bit of XP and if I change to vista I will have a hard time getting used to it. Maybe I will give windows 7 a try, but I doubt it will beat XP's usibility.
^ What SiLvER said, except for Win95 was the first OS I used, WinME the first frequently used. Also I'd like to point out that the fact you are running XP doesn't mean you have an old computer. I build my own PC's to customise them exactly how I want, so whilst some people are confined to what they sell in shops that is not the case for me
Using Vista is great due to its special interface and stuff.. but for programming and other professional stuff.. i recommend the xp.
Great statement there. I have trouble finding a PC for sale that doesn't have a dual-core and less than 2gb of RAM.
Whilst that is true, it doesn't mean it is nessecary to have higher requirements. They just threw in a load of visual crap you can do yourself with software like WindowBlinds anyway.. and media centre, even worse-than-xp help and support, and loads of other features that I personally do not want.
XP is much better to deal with when prolems happened. and I hate when it uses too much computer resouces
I don't hate Vista , but I get used to xp . I am happy can make it run very fast which is most important feature I like .
You mean User Account Control or whatever it is called? You can disable it in Control Panel. But still, they shouldn't have put it there in the first place! And what were they playing at, selling it with Telnet disabled by default! A sin, it is! A crime worse than murder!
ive grown to like vista as a gamer, on the web design side it ant affected me, and yeh User Account Control you can turn off by going control panel then click your account and un tick it or something like that.
yes windows vista is the great operating system, yes i know there are some compatibility issues in it but it is in the learning stage what you can say in the simple language.Windows vista has great security than XP
