eCommerce.. To Do or Not To Do??

Hi. I was thinking of opening up a small ecommerce store and get some sale. I am good at SEO and link building and have profit promoting affiliate offers. But now I want to start ecommerce websites.

    But here are my issues:

I see most of the dropshippers directories charge some monthly fee. Are there any which are free to join?? But credibility is important.

Are ecommerce sites profitable compared to selling affiliate products??

I live in India. Will a dropshipper in USA accept me??

    Thanks.

I think if you are looking from a buyer point of view, unless your shop is a brand such as Buy.com or Amazon.com and people actually heard it many times online, you will have a low conversion rate and most people wont buy. However, if you will create a dynamic website which the only thing it does is create a dynamic environment so that those potential buyers get a cookie set by using your affiliate link, then the conversion rate will be higher because they are buying from major stores that you promote, such stores that the hesitation to buy something at those stores is very low. basically i think that creating an e-commerce with a low budget isn't a good thing. creating a website to help decide the buyer what to buy and where to buy, is a good thing and will also be successful with implementing smart affiliate links, imagine a website with no borders, that dress the cookie on buyers computer...redirects them for thos major stores, in such way that not only cookie is implmented, but also some useful information. such information that you have full control - convincing information.

The best and well established ones will often charge a fee. But they will be well worth it. Consider the fee as part of business expenses.

You should stick to what you doing just make it bigger. When you doing something and you are generating money with it then just make it bigger and you will earn more money. :D

worldwidebrands is the best in the business, they are all over ebay. They charge a one time fee.

Being from India, you have to set up a really really nice website to do any good. If you website is professional looking and you present yourself as a professional, you'll do alright. If it were me, I wouldn't have an address on the site, the dropshipper is sending on your behalf anyway, just a contact form and an 800 number that forwards to you.

Magenta is a new ecommerce script that is doing well these days, I'm still a CRELoaded guy myself.

One more thing, it's up to the dropshippers to allow you to ship for them....for free. They are out there, the dropshipping websites you are referring to simply charge you to access the information, those sites are mostly public.
