Many directories say not to submitt affiliate sites. Fine, but that can be a tricky call as to what is an affiliate site. I am about to start submitting some of my sites to paid directories and would like to know which ones would get classified as affilaite sites and not listed (and loosing my money) For instance this one, http://www.homemovierental.net I think many would call this an affilaite site. Frankly, it primarily is. So I try to be picky about what directories I submit it to. If they say no aff sites then I don't bother, unless its a free directory and I take a chance it may get in. But this one http://www.realestatesoldeasy.com is primarily an information site. All original conent, wrote it myself. There are some affiliate ads and google ads on the pages but I personally dont think of this as an affiliate site. How many paid directory owners would accept this one? Also, when it comes to submitting a forum site, should the forum be decently populated with posts before submitting it to directories? Free or paid.
Which links at bottom? The sponserd links, or the small footer links to other sites in my network? Or both, notice the sponsord links go to same sites in those footer links What is wrong with having those? Not any different really than having coop links down there. Or if the sponsord links were paid links from other webamsters.
Just looked at my code and almost all the links on the page have that tag. Not sure what that tag does. I use FrontPage to build and it of course throws in some usless and redundant code from time to time. Inconsistantly at that. MS ROCKS! Common Gates, now that you got Microsoft to is insane level of profitability by selling mediocre crap to the mass market, why not spend a little more on R&D to build quality products? Edit: Now looking at code on other sites and I see that tag sprinkled here and there. Are you certain that would be considered a hidden link thingy by SE's. I think it is used to turn off the automatic underlining of linked text. But I see it also in places where the underlining shows????????
I edited my post, I copied and pasted the wrong portion of the code What I was referring to was the color being the same as that of the text.
Ohhhhh! I see what you mean now. I though hidden text, or hidden links, were the same color as background so they could not be seen by a surfer. Now what if those were underlined while still same color as text? I see that often on some big name sites. The small print text at bottom with disclamers and stuff will have some links in it, same color as nonlinked text but still underlined. Anybody else with opinions on what constitutes hidden links?
