I bet they make suprisingly little. Most of the traffic that I get from Digg rarely converts for my AdSense. I would much rather have 1,000 visitors from Google rather than 10,000 visitors from Digg.
Maybe that's due to Google's indexing issues - ie, big site's hogging traffic as the smaller resource sites got lost from the Google index. Just a first thought, though.
I think it's because Google visitors are actively searching for your topic. The typical Digg reader is just browsing the site, looking for something interesting to peruse. When I'm on those sites, much of the time it's in between tasks and I end up thinking "I should really come back later and check this out" but rarely do.
