Is there any trick that you can do with PHPld to get much more indexed pages than you would do otherwise? I have etc allowed only 5 links on each page to increase the number of possibel indexed pages.

in 3.04 there is an option to create a sitemap for google and yahoo you can submit to them

that will help 100% in getting your directory crawled faster
or just wait... google yahoo and msn will most likely crawl a few pages then come back later and crawl a few more

getting more backlinks will ofcourse help aswell..
you just need to wait it wont be done in 1 day :)

Increase your number of categories. Of course you could add an Amazon store, or news feeds as well..

I have never submitted sitemaps on my directory, and I have had 62 pages crawled by googlebot today alone

Inject multiple feeds into your page with random feeds rotating in and out of various tables to reduce any mention of duplicate content.

oops i read your first post wrong >_<
version 3.04 also has "details" pages
which will create pages such as
http://www.webspassage.com/detail/link-446.html that will increase your pages by how ever many links you have in your directory
thats all that i know of.. unless you create pages by hand such as an "about" page or create some new features and turn it into a portal like www.haabaa.com has done

In v3 there is also a mod to show the Latest Categories, so that when you add new categories, you can show them on the home page.
