If you can create a paypal account from your country PayPal is the suitable solution for you. Regnow and Plimus commission fees are higher than paypal.

 

I wanted to build a couple of sites in the software niche and was just doing a research for the last two hours about software affiliates


And from my research I can say that Regnow.com seems to the king of software affiliates. They have bought all the big software affiliates and have monopoly in the affiliate industry I think (as far as my research throughout various websites including DP in the last two hours confirmed)


I do not know them personally and have not worked till now but my research only seems to point them as the biggest affiliate.

NB: Just to inform you, this thread must have been in the General Marketing forum or the affiliates forum. But this is your first post and so I believe you are new to DP. From next time onwards, please post in the correct forum.

I would advise that you should keep both options open

Build your own website and sell your software through paypal. There would not be affiliate commission for these sales and you can keep all the payments to yourself.

Secondly, register under Regnow.com as a software publisher and they will sell your software through their software affiliate program. You can discuss with them about how much affiliate fees they would keep for selling your softwares. They will sell your softwares on commission per sale basis.

 

You will need to solve the licensing issue yourself. Once you do, you might want to check out the new service Flex ePayment. You can accept credit cards, Moneybookers, Alert pay, and Google checkout all through one Buy Now button - plus have affiliate tracking managed for you.
