hi everyone, we are developing a website for our client, www . distrabit . com.

we are aiming for #1 ranking on google for "product sourcing"

we know that content is key.

just say that we had no links.

what % of the websites text should we "product sourcing" in?

Please advice or quote for seo for this keyword.

No more than 5% keyword density, but you will still need backlinks to rank number 1, its not just on page seo.

Well i have seen some sites with keyword density of 10% doing very well with very competative keyword.

and i think 10% of keyword density and some good backlinks will work.

I keep seeing people saying 3-5% but i have noticed that msn and yahoo care about that more than google does. Just get something on the page and just go after the backlinks.

You'll definitely need more than just keyword density to get it up there...I think 2-3% is best.

Check out some pages in top SERP. You'll find low keyword density (<1%) very often. Keyword density isn't an important SERP factor anymore.

Isn't it true that too high a density counts against you? How much is too much?

Yes its true. I try to stick to around 5-7% keyword density however I write for my readers not the search engines and tend to very rarely add a lot of keywords to my article.

Is there any relation of how many times a keyword should optimally appear on a web page w.r.t to the number of Words packed on the web page

backlinks is the key. You don't have that, you don't have nothing.
