Most things on DP have been discused at least once, since DP is huge! :D

still, at least the post is in the right place (and the answer to this question might be different in the near future)

Yes signature links count from forums. But I expect, just as I have said in the past, these in time will be de-valued!

    - Blog links will be de-valued
    - Directory links have been de-valude (as I predicted)
    - Forum links will be devalued
    - Social book marking links will be devalued
    - Even article links will be devalued

Google hasn’t said this, this is just my opinion. But as new methods arise, that site developers grab a hold of to SEO their site, as soon as everyone shifts in that direction, the quality of search result lowers. So what does Google do? Change the algorithm. You'll never be able to keep up completely; the only way is to have quality content that even official government / university sites will link to.

Yes they do help you. I have actually used posting on relevant forums to my website along with blog commenting to really build a strong link base.

If all the above are devalued then how websites are going to be ranked

Exactly! Would essentially "de-value" 99% of links on the net...

Well that is what brings the changes in the algorithm. It isn't that they become useless, it's that they simply become LESS useful. There will always be something new for SEO's to take advantage of.

If it devalues 99% of the internet links, then approximately 99% of the internet links could be fabricated, and in effect need to be devaluated.

This doesn’t mean that you should stop building links, just don’t be fooled that it will give you long term SEO results. SEO is a forever changing battle, while spammers build up their arsenal of weapons, SEO build up theirs. Then Google completely changes the rules rendering the whole current arsenal useless
(Time frames... sorry I don’t have my crystal ball but I'm guessing most of the above[blogs/forum links] will devalue in the next 2-4 years)

Those links that are left will be strong links that SEOers (and spammers) haven’t yet figured out a way to use to 'fake' their way to the top. So as much as you may want to hate to admit to this, the value of links that SEOers are building will always be de-valued in future. The algorithm will always be changing, and in affect SEOers have to change their SEO methods to adapt to the algorithm.

In affect, all techniques you are using now will not hold in the future, the only technique that will hold is building a quality site with quality content that is both useful and an (or the) informative site of its particular niche.

I don't think this way can bring higher PR.The important factor is webpage PR,not domain PR.
I wondering if this way enhance keywords ranking markedly.I doubt.

Tutor I would have to disagree with you because the pagerank system was made to show authority sites and even major SEO companies have said that gov and edu links themselves really have no authority over others it is just the fact that many of their domains carry a higher pr due to all the backlinks. I know google is going more for good content now and isn't valuing all links as much but they would never devalue all those types of links.

Yes they help but don't solely use forums. Use as many different methods as you can handle. Sometimes sites go bye-bye or they clean up and your backlinks from them disappear.

As mentioned the algorithms change from time to time so build backlinks no matter what.
