How Much Do I Charge For An Ad?

Today I was contacted by someone wanting to place an ad on my website. The problem is I don't know what to charge. The site is extremely targeted to a specific market. It had 95,952 unique visitors last month with 166,222 page impressions. Any ideas on how much I should charge per ad?

This would depend on what kind of ad i.e. text, graphical. Then also the size, prominence and duration.

At the end of the day it's up to you, if they've approached you, you can get a good price. May I see the site?

Well I have two 160x600 skyscraper slots along the right side. Along the top I have a one 480x60.

No offense, but I have learned to not reveal any site on DP that is profitable. It only ends up breeding competitors trying to squeeze in.

I would suggest you to charge around $100-$150/month
Coz my forum is charging around that amount to have a top banner ads for 1 month

166,222 page impressions/month comes to 5540 pageviews a day. I would charge about $100/month for this.

I charged $175 for a couple of words(context ad) for 3 months, at that time my traffic was about 30 000 pageviews/month

    $175/3 ~ $60/month

    you should try $180/month
    or $300/2months
    or $400/3months

Its a popular and targeted site. It generated $870 last month from my own use of the ad space. If I allow them to use the ad space that will be severly cutting my own profit if I charge what you guys suggest. Perhaps I should charge $300 per month per ad space?

Well if you use cpm and they pay you $3 that space will be worth around $500 so i'd go for about $350

Its a really hard thing to figure out. But I can you tell, if your adspace is it not selling then lower it. Becuase this means they are not interested in your price.
I see many blogs even Alexa.com with 125 * 125 banners and they site unsold for weeks, they want too much.

    There's your answer right there.

Take your average numbers, increase them by 25%, and negotiate from there.

Right you are! everything here depends on ad size, and of course on the product advertized. Just charge for impressions and not for Action or Cliks.
In case your site ais arcade one, just measure your GEO ingredients and sell it!

    Good luck!
