5 millon pages, 5 years, 1 million happy users, no Google Love?

Its been a while.. 5 years, since my baby was delivered to the internet world. Many people find it extremely useful and saves them lots of money... but after all this time, Google still seems to think that it's beneficial to index only 1% of our pages... Yahoo thinks it's best to blacklist the domain completely. Infact, PPC "spy" websites show up instead of my site when searching for the site name instead of us. Crazy... Yes, the business model focuses on affiliate marketing... but other sites seem to do well with similar content... pricegrabber, shopping, bizrate, mysimon... to name a few... why do they get fully indexed while others get penalized? Why does this have to be such a struggle... I follow Matt Cutts' articles... SEO friendly techniques... still nothing. Thus, I have to rely on PPC campaigns... paying for every user. We now have over 1 million happy customers but almost none of them are a result of regular 'natural' search. Why? Is affiliate marketing that bad? I hope Matt Cutts or someone else in the industry can give some feedback on the difference between affiliate marketing, high rankings, my site, pricegrabber, shopping.com etc.
    Thank you for reading,
    John

The difference is that the big sites like pricegrabber and shopping.com all know how to hide their affiliate links better. They redirect most affiliate links instead of using direct links. They also have massive budgets to build authority with the search engines through various paid links.

Whether paid or not back-links are key for good indexing as well traffic.

Im not sure what your site is, but i bet that you have never even bothered to
build its back-links and/or something is seriously wrong with the script you are
using as if its been on the internet for as long as you claim it should have alot more.

    thx

I havent logged in since then so didnt know about the DB crash...

To address the OPs question, it is very likely that you are doing naughty things...hence why you are blacklisted in Yahoo etc

    What is your URL?

with 5 million pages unless you're PR6 or 7 i would expect that 99% of the site would be supplemental even if it got indexed.

Can you share your site URL? Surely with a million customer you are among the top 500 Alexa rank.

the simple relationship of number of pages vs uv shows G and me as well that there can be NO value content at all else you would have hundreds of millions uv/yr
    and
no single person can create more than a few thousand pages quality content per 5 years
hence G and others may safely and correctly assume that you site is unworthy to use G resources fro being indexed
