Banned By Google - Sites Still Spidered

Does google still spider sites after they have banned them? I do not get any results after doing the "site:domain.com" search, so I assume I am banned. However, Googlebot still spiders my sites.

I have done nothing against Google webmaster guidelines.

This does not mean that you are banned by google.
I believe it has something to do with an update of some sort.
    Happens all the time.
Try the "site:" command on any other site when you find that happens and you will probably notice the same thing for all websites.

I have never been able to figure this out either.

    Anyone else???

Re-Submit a site map with webmaster tools.
My PR 4 dropped to a 0 and then I submitted a site map and I got my PR 4 back.
    Give it a try!

Try some good content updates and good backlinks for google bot to fetch new contents. Also like Tyler said update, update the information on your webmaster account specially the sitemap.

If it's a minus penalty, yes they still crawl them like normal. If you have been completely removed from the index, then you will only get occasional Googlebot hits.

If you are just not indexed because the site is new, you can get 100's or even 1,000s of hits if the site is large before you show up in the index.

That's the general rule of what happens.

yeah resubmit it to Google Webmaster Tools, either you can submit site map again or can submit under Google Reconsideration.....and may be within a couple of week, you will get your site index.

I my self and a lot of others are getting banned lately - i think Google is doing a spam site dance, if your site has auto content or resembles a MFA look out .... you'll get banned .... or maybe there's just more spam busters floating around lately.

I've seen and heard of many legitimate, quality and unique content sites getting tossed out of the SERP's lately. Someone on here sent me one today that was completely de-indexed asking me if i knew why.

I tried to find a reason but couldn't, unique content, very natural backlinks, no text link sales or anything like that and no errors with the server headers, robots.txt etc.

Google are just shooting themselves in the foot, if people can't find sites for their own brand name or content they will go to Yahoo instead.

Possibly .... the funny thing is that only sites that i Have had in a thread or in my footer here at DP got banned .... I am not saying that DP got me banned - rather the scum bags that either float around DP or members are dobbing in sites for no reason as spam in the Google index - possibly old members who were banned or something are stirring up some issues for us .... it's funny because I have a third site which I never linked to DP and it is the last one standing and with similar design and content.

I think banned sites would be also indexed regularly but they would be invisible in SERPS.. as it's impossible to tell spider each and every time that site should not be indexed..,

I remember reading a blog the other day (can't think of the URL) but months back he done a review of various online tools from several sites and linked to them. All his review pages went PR4 "except" the Digitalpoint keyword tool review where he linked to DP it stayed PR N/A.

Not conclusive of course, but pretty strange.

For the record, yes google will continue to visit your site, and will show up in your cpanel, after you are banned.

I have had a site in the past banned for using a scraping tool to create tons of keyword targeted pages.

Where you cloaking/redirecting the generated pages, or just getting them indexed as regular pages?
