I've read many people say parking your domain at somewhere like Sedo or Domain Sponsor can incur penalties at Google. Is there any truth to this? Has anyone originally parked a traffic domain at some domain parking progam, then gone onto develop the domain and had an issue? What is the idea behind this penalization (assuming there is truth to it)? Is it because Google flags the domain because PPC pages only serve up ads... ?
I wouldn't set up any links to parked domains. That way they don't show up in Google and Google cannot put the domain into whatever filter. On the other hand the domain also doesn't age in Googles index. But to answer your question: I haven't experienced problems with domains that were parked. Even in the case of once optimized, than parked and later reactivated domains.
I've got a lot of type-in, typo or not-yet-used domains in domain parking and no links are pointing to any of them. Anyway, as I said: I've had active domains put into domainparking and later reused them for projects and there didn't seem to be a disadvantage from having the domains parked before.
