I think what you are speaking of is

    Sales minus Expenses equals Revenues

Sales of $10,000.00, minus $9,000.00 in Expenses, will earn Clickbank $1,000.00 in Revenue.

    Is that what you meant?

You are correct in that would be the formula for most businesses online or offline.

Revenue is total sales (or turnover), not Sales minus Expenses

    sales minus expenses equals profit

Revenues are what the company earns.

Revenues in this case would equal profit agreed, since the company does not "earn" the total sales in the real sense.

don't know what you mean by earning in the real sense.

heres: the basic p/l account for a company like clickbank

(total sales + listing fees) - refunds = revenue

revenue - cost of sales (commissions for affiliates and publishers) = gross profit

gross profit - operating expenses (like wages and traffic) = operating profit

operating profit - overheads = net profit (before tax)

Actually i meant that for every $1K of sales we are awarded, we actually would had made an addition $9K which is lost because of clickbank screwups!

Yea thats the whole math. If clickbank cheats affiliates and publishers, it will earn much more than it should. Cant it get caught?
Why dont the top publishers get multiple companies to handle their product sales?

Most likely the publishers are smart enough to understand Clickbank is not stealing anybodys money,....now if most others could grasp that concept it would be a miracle.

Everybodys whos sales have tanked are not blaming the distribution channel for stealing lol.....

You might want to read the "Newspapers" to understand where sales went......seems the Internet lacks communication and reasonable thinking....

Clickbank sucks these days,do not promote them untill they improve their payment processing and tracking problems. There are many other good networks.Give it a try and see the difference.

^^ Paydotcom? Others? Actually i will give others a try for some weeks.

Anyway, after reading so many weird stories about CB issues and reading CB email (yes we have a shit load of problems...) guess it's time for some of us to move on and do a cross test with another network.

Which networks are you talking about? I know of PayDotCom but the product selection is very small. There are a few good products related to making money online but that is about it.

Still, none of those can be considered a clickbank alternative , not enough products nor affiliates for the matter.

Commission Junction is as big as Clickbank, but the problem is they mainly specialize in physical products....

Yeah, I agree, the rest are pretty weak.

the big problem with the competition is either, lack of products or more importantly LOW % commission. i.e. send someone to a high end retailer and you might get 10% of $5 or 10% of $500 - a bit hit and miss for me.

the other problem with paydotcom is that you get paid by the publisher not the company, and after 30 days - not good for ppc, bit of a gamble.

Thats made me skeptical enough to stay away, on both ends. Wouldn't want to have to handle all those payments to my affiliates or worry about not getting paid.

Paying your affiliates does not take much time, they have a mass paying system - believe me this would be the least of your worries.

The problem is being an affiliate, and risk of not getting paid which is common or so i heard (and paydotcom do nothing about it)

Last time I was checking PayDotCom i noticed that they do not have any tracking mechanism such as "TID" that you can use for tracking (A must have for ppc) - even if on their official website they mention that its possible to tracks clicks, links and stuff, this suppost people said that this is not yet implemented. However apart from that they got loads of other nifty features.

    Final toughts:

They have loads of nice features but they dont have the most important functions such as tracking, their own credit card processing, and a good middleman presence which is very important.

Paydotcom sucks ass as far as affiliates go....the fact is if the vendor doesn't want to pay you for all your hard work then he doesn't have to. After being burnt there once I'll never promote anything over there again and as a vendor there is no way they even come close to thousands of affiliates that clickbank can provide.

Yep, they have loads of features that can be of great use, but they dont have the most important stuff.

Ok, so as far as sales fluctuations. At my best, in January 2008, I was making upwards of $600-700/wk with Clickbank, consistantly, month after month, week after week. That gradually slowed.......

Last week, I had a period of 7 days where I made a total of 1 $20 sale. HOPS were up, not sales. Then Saturday, I made ($73 all on Credit cards), Sunday nothing, than Monday ($60 off 3 sales, all via PayPal). Oddly enough, Sunday I had the most hops. This is obviously not a big enough sample to point fingers, and since all my traffic is organic, anything I make is fine, but something still seems --- off?
