This is the first I've heard of this. I was under the impression that Yahoo! purchased Overture, as well.

MSN used to show yahoo/overture ads but not sure now since they have their own ppc service.

That's what I always thought, too - but I've seen posts, both here and at other forums, that indicate that it may pertain (have pertained?) to MSN, as well. I believe that adCenter has a presence here (User Name 'adCenter411'), so hopefully he or she will see this thread and shed some light on the subject. :)

Overture was purchased by Yahoo and is now called 'Yahoo! Search Marketing'.

'Yahoo! Search Marketing' (YSM) encompasses Yahoo itself, partner search sites & a content network that display contextual ads similar to Google adSense.

MSN used to get all its sponsored search results from YSM / Overture, but is currently phasing out their partnership with YSM and switching all their sponsored advertising to their own adCenter system.

Yup, MS adCenter for the UK market is currently in Beta testing, so they haven't phased out YSM yet.
