Alright, I just designed a website for a company, and am trying to move their domain name to go daddy. Problem is, the company that currently has the domain name, is a piece of s###. DON'T USE DOMAINAVENUE DOT COM. I've made repeated attempts to e-mail the company (there is no phone number) to get the info i need to transfer it. But to no avail. What should I do if the never respond? Is there any legal action we can take. Or any other advice? We would just quit paying, but they have something like 5 years already. Thanks in advance. Josh.
OMG, try threatening them your client is about to sue them - maybe then they will reply you... Are they hosting the site itself or only have the domain? Not sure if it is worth to take any further action if this does not work...simply suggest your client to get a new domain. However, if the current domain is pretty old or a trademark try contacting their host.
My advice. Contact GODADDY and have them proceed "on your behalf." They would love to have the domain under management. GOOD LUCK.
Do you have the UserName/Password for the account? Does the account's control panel have an option to get the Authorization Code (EPP number)? The site does have a "Retrieve Lost Password" option. Once you have the Auth Code you can initiate the transfer from your Godaddy control panel. DomainAvenue.com has a Hong Kong address. The main page of their site says that they are having some outgoing emails blocked (since April) by some ISPs due to alleged spamming.
Can you share the domain ? what TLD is it ? if its a .co.uk domain you cant transfer it to godaddy anyway, but you can contact nominet as long as the whois info is correct then they will take the domains from the registrar , im not sure if there is something like this for .com's and other TLD's as ive never had to deal with them but im sure there is something that can be done (as long as the who is, is correct )
There is no control panel with this comapny, its the worst thing in the world. Godaddy said they can't do anything because i can't get any of the info that i need, but the ONE thing i can do is change the nameservers, which I will do, and just deal with the domain being at a company I don't like. I'm just gonna report them to ICANN
i know, makes no since, you log in, but their company website is so bad, that is the only thing you can do. I think that it is a webmaster that owns a server and keeps it in his closet, and that's about it. He might be the one that designed the original site I'm re doing.
