Karate should be better as judo involves lot of falls and at your age it would be difficult to master.

Well Karate is just for attack and judo is for both attack and defense
So choice is yours what you want to use for you.

Both of martial arts is quite interesting to learn. It depend on your physical condition, since at that ages a lot of constraint will appeared especially when you mental is not ready.

I had stop my taekwando train at age 24 and right now keep maintain my stamina by myself.

    Judo

Karate is a neat solo martial exercise. You look good if you do it. The deep stances are good and the punches develop a good upper body.
But, it's a laugh compared with judo randori training, as far as effective fighting skills go

Ahh i think he has given you better answer , everything depends on your fitness dude . Age doesn't matter that much if you are totally fit than go for judo . That is best in all directions .

It depends on the school you are training at. There are good and bad schools. You can learn karate or judo at any age within reason. I would personally go with karate as some styles incorporate throws/holds in their routines. Make a decision yourself and watch some of the classes before you go. It needs to be right for YOU.

Remember: there are lots of different karate styles, all offering a different take on things.

Do you want something to use if you are attacked? Or is it just for fitness or social? You need to be thinking about these questions.

Judo is a sport in nature, karate is *supposed* to be a martial art (i.e. not a sport), but some dojos treat it as a sport, just so you know.

hammyparmar's advice was incorrect - karate is not just for attack. This is completely untrue. It is attack-minded certainly but there are defensive moves of course. Sometimes defense is not enough, you may have to attack to stay alive.

I second what wizs said - I took tae kwon do for a number of years and got a black belt - but I also had a great instructor/school. when we'd do tournaments with other schools, it was easy to tell that our instructor's style/method was more effective.

most schools let you try out a couple classes or at least watch before you join - i'd suggest 'sampling' both to see which fits you better - because if you don't like the school, you're not going to learn much!

I personally go for Karate as I've been taking Karate class for a while.
But as many people said, you just have to try both and see what's fit you the most :D

Have fun! Whether it's Judo or Karate, it'd be good for you.

I've been doing martial arts for a very long time and I can tell you from my experience that
Judo is more practical than karate, but you should try both of them before you decide which
    one you prefer.

Karate. It involves both kicking and punching. Judo involves only slamming you down.
If someone comes with arms like knifes, karate can teach you to defense but Judo don't...I think..

    Good luck!

Neither judo nor karate. Kick boxing (or muay thai) is what you want to learn, or just boxing on its own. They're the most practical in a real fight.

Karate is almost completely useless in a real fight. Judo is far more useful, but nowhere near as useful as boxing or kick boxing.

With that said, let me make it clear that, apart from kung fu, karate is the best to learn if you want to learn a real art. It will help you align spirit, mind and body. It really is amazing stuff. I've studied both karate and muay thai - but that was when I was a kid.
