Okay, I have a classical case: I paid someone for a service they did not do, emailed them 3 times, no response, asked for a refund.. no response, said if they don't reply within the week I will open a dispute, still silence.. so I went ahead and opened dispute on paypal now and what? No response to that either. My dispute is about to close soon unless I escalate it, if I do it, how can I prove they didn't do the job they promised? we are not talking about big money here, but i also dont feel like handing them away because eventually i had to hire someone else to do the job AND such a big delay caused a few misunderstandings with my clients, which is understandable of course. what can i actually do now? anyone has experience with disputes?
Escalate it as it will not matter to yourself if you can't prove it, by escalating it at least paypal will need to look into it further, putting more limitations or even closing their account.
thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated! I dont want to get his account closed or limited, just to get my money back, but if i chose to escalate it, and lets say he still doesn't respond, AND has no sufficient funds on his account for paypal to refund, what then? they may close or limit his account but it doesn't really help me. Like i said i am not seeking vendetta, just a refund
If the person does not have sufficient balance on his account then his balance would be negative and to make account current he would have to fund the account with either cc or bank.. Otherwise his account would be in limited state and closed after some time automatically by Paypal ..
Haha.how much total? If he still doesn't respond, PayPal will almost always side with the person who made the claim. If he does not have enough balance....he paypal balance will became negative .. GOOD LUCK
I think its so funny when people try to do these sorts of scams over such trivial ammounts of money. doing a good job for someone will continue to bring in business and money for years to come.
the whole fuss is over $50 like i said it's no big sum but would be good to have it back anyway, thanks again for all your info guys, very helpful and reassuring!
If they don't have $50 in the PP account. PP will charge their attached CC for the funding. And i think you can't have the refund coz it involve intangible item and PP and cover it
