Paid to post forum 3~5 cents per post is good enough. 1 cent is too less

I think the whole pay-per-post thing gives posters incentive to try to cheat the system, or just post total rubbish.

Where I live minimum wage is something like $7 an hour. At $0.10 per post someone would have to write 70 posts an hour just to make minimum wage. That's roughly 1.16 posts per minute non-stop.
You're just going to end up with a bunch of garbage one-liners at that rate that realizticly, you could have a script generating for about that penny-per-post or less like you were originally thinking.

I think a better alternative would be to find decent writers, and pay them a weekly salary to generate activity on the forum.

Agree with the above. Use the money in other ways to generate real users and real content. In the long run you'll fair much better.

But hiring posters is a great way to kickstart your forum and get a few members in. After all, no one posts in or even joins an empty forum. The more users there are, the more likely people are to sign up. It's a bit like a chain reaction.

In terms of pay, it's usually around $0.10 per post, $0.08 being the lowest. If, however, you produce high quality posts, you could charge $0.15 to $0.20 per post, and even more!

Personally I would offer the $0.03 for new threads, and $0.005 for a reply. Also I would offer another incentive, maybe a monthly competition to $30, or maybe first to 1000 posts wins $100. Something like that.

Free IPods and you'll get people going ;)

$.10 cents/post is a good average if you want 20-30 word posts relevant to your content.

    IMO
    0.10/post is a standard rate.
And to quality control, you can set the minimum word in the each post to prevent spam

You could, but this would do no good for your ranking in search engines. As long as you hire good posters, it's just as good and probably even better :)
