I recently got a link from the PR 4 website http://www.earthstation9.com/. I think they have used frames of some kind in creating the entire website, so all the pages have the same URL and same PR. So my question is what is the PR i am getting from getting a link from a website like this. Is it 4 or 0. Is it completely useless to get a link from a site like this? Thanks for all answers.

The first mistake you made is judging how good a link is by its pr rating !

Who knows how much pr you are getting and who cares, high pr wont get you more visitors to your site or get you higher on the search engines, so why do you need to know, if the link gets you hits then that is good and thats how you should judge how good a link it is !

If use frame the rank will be for the main page only. If u get link from any site even pr7 can not predict how much PR u will get. U have to wait until next update

Well, it's not just because of frames, internal pages may not have same PR as homepage. It depends on which page exactly links back to you.

Lesson here is not to deal with sites in frames or iframes.

a dofollow link from high pr page will surely increase ur pr.

fluid is right. the framed page has its own real url. thats pr will be counted.
but the site u hav mentioned doesnt use url redirection. so the url u r seeing is real. dont hav to worry :)

I take a look at each page.... And i see that online the index page has a high PR. If you take a look at its pages, it has really no PR.

in my book, a link is a link. as usearchme said, if it send you good traffic, then i wouldnt worry about the PR.

If you look at the menu, you will see the 1st or 2nd link is 'Abuse and Survival'. When you hover over it, you will see that the link goes to abuse.htm. Now this is loaded within a frame (the centre) and if you check the pr of that page, it is PR3. So if your link was on there, that's what PR measurement you would have used (without going into outgoing links etc).
