I am running wordpress. I want to make a box appear as soon as people visit my site that tells subscribe and get the ebook free. I got the part where the box comes in. it is an ajax script/ wordpress plugin that i have installed. What should i do for the rest of the part. Autoresponder? If yes which one. How? I need help. A Weber is very good, but not cheap. You can test out my autoresponder here: http://www.searchtempo.com/content/view/39/55/ Some web hosting comes with free autoresponders. You could also do a search in Yahoo for "free autoresponsers". Good luck.

Ok. I have a proposal for you if you don't want to get Aweber, and if that is the only email you want to send. Send an auto email to the person who post their first comment on your blog with a link to your book download. It is through a plugin called Comment Relish. Otherwise I am afraid you would have to use Aweber.
If you only want to send the email once, I recommend what smub said above. Besides pop-ups are a turn off for some site visitors.
