Is this permanent? I notice I still hold top rankings for my best keywords, but it looks like I've lost a lot of ranking for the long tail. Did this happen to anyone else?
For how long you've been ranking? and is it a new website? However some updates are going on and it might be temporary, but you might need to check if you lost any important backlinks.
I also suffer ranking drop. In october when google algo updated , ranking gets some drop and after week it get better result. But today on Nov. 17 when I again check ranking report I loose lots of SERP position. Any one suffer with this.? And what to do next?
Thanks it looks like my rankings are fluctuating wildly for some terms, for others its stable. Sites are over a year old and have had 300-500 uniques per day for the last couple of months. Each site has over 100 pages of unique content and they do pretty well in terms of $ monthly so I've been pretty much crapping my pants all day worrying lol. Hopefully this will just be temporary, I will keep this thread updated.
My sites are fluctuating a fair bit too. Just this morning I've checked the position for one of my main sites and its position against its main keyword has moved 70 places. I hope it goes back up!
Sites are 2-3 years old - Google had recognized them as "authority sites", and they have lot's of backlinks.
I have 20 back links in Google and now only 10 back link in Google search Engine But doesn't issue, it determination approach backer.
So Google crapped on your authority sites and even your top keywords are only found on the 5th page???? What have you been doing to remedy the problem if anything, and is it working??
I have the same problem. For 5 days now my site ranks on the 5th page for all the keywords. Don't know what to do next. It has a lot of backlinks and this should not be the problem. Does anyone have a strong answer for this? Thanks! PS. i don't use blackhat or spam to promote my services so ..
Yeah, authority sites for year and a half, two years, and suddenly BANG. The usual: unique content. That's what i always do. Nothing else. Lot's of new links come every month from people around the world, i don't even do link campaigns etc etc This is really weird to tell you the truth: some guys say some competitor rated me... but, i never did or do anything wrong so... who knows? Maybe Google bans/penalizes first and then goes checking... Anyway i did ask for reconsideration at Google webmasters tools. I know it's stupid since i didn't do anything wrong but i asked them to look at sites/links/content. Right now just waiting and working as usual.
Well I'm kind of a mix between the two of you...a few weeks ago all my main keywords went missing then came back after a few days (happened for a lot of UK based sites I think, but not sure). Then about four days ago all the pages within one section of the site, a very important one with lots of long-tail activity, seem to have gone missing. I can't think there's any chance I've done anything wrong so I guess it's google just losing pages accidentally - fingers crossed they come back soon, but not a lot else I can do except carry on as normal. Whatever people say about 'bad practices' usually being to blame (which they perhaps usually are) I am completely convinced that sometimes sections of the index just disappear for no reason. Like Scubita, I don't worry much about links because the site attracts quite a lot on its own. Funny I thought that was the idea - make good content that people want to link to - so it's a bit irritating (and expensive) to keep being penalised but have nothing to 'correct'.
I've seen this problem at 10 sites in this morning, some of them with PR 5 and a lot of backlinks. What is wrong with google? lol
