I think the McCain suporters should note this; The city in the US described as obese, toothless, and poor overwhelmingly supported John McCain in the election. Huntington, WV, unfortunately leads the nation in obesity amongst the entire population, diabetes, and toothlessness amongst the elderly. It struggles with health issues. Amazingly, Huntington ran dramatically against national trends in the election. The city is located in two counties in West Virginia; Cabell and Wayne. The counties overwhelmingly suported Mccain in the general election respectively giving him a 54-44 and 58-40 % majority of votes in the election. Of course that ran counter to national tendencies. So I ask you, vocal supporters of Senator McCain....what do you have in common with the obese, toothless population that resoundingly believed in Senator McCain?
This is a pointless thread. There are so many important issues to speak about why would you take this story and the McCain angle and make it some wedge issue?
Earl, No offense, but I could list plenty of counties throughout the US that had similar election numbers. The more rural areas had a tendency to lean towards McCain ... has nothing to do with obesity or toothlessness. Mark ps. Yes, I have all my teeth & I'm not overweight!
I'm from another part of West Virginia. I don't like how we're stereotyped, but then I guess there are unfortunately a lot of obese people around here. I'm not obese, I have all of my teeth, and I didn't vote for McCain.
