Do you recommends any softwares? Anyways its basically bookmarking your website on various websites but the Wiki Should explain it glanced through it quickly.
Don't use a software for this and don't spam SB sites !! Install addthis (or similar) button on your website so that your visitors can also quickly bookmark the pages that they like.
social book marking is a community of people or website were you have to create a profile and share your profile to other people. you can get trafic from social bookmarking but this is just a temporary traffic.
Because you put a thumbs down beside your topic title I thought you meant that social bookmarking isn't that effective in SEO anymore as it used to be. I had this observation a few weeks back. Anyway about the topic, I guess they answered it already. What I can add though, is using "ShareThis!" it helped me tons during my first time.
I've found social bookmarking sites to be very helpful for generating traffic. Whenever I write a new blog post, I usually submit it to sites like Digg and StumbleUpon. (usually every other article)
Social bookmarking (for my own opinion) is a best way to make a fresh website / blog to be index by search engines.
In my short time doing this (or trying rather ) i've had wonderful success with digg and stumble not so much with the others...i find delicous to be rather horrible actually but others might have had luck with it. stumble and digg are definitely fantastic though. Automated submissions are definitely a bad idea.
I think onlywire and socialmarker are the popular softwares but I would say that you should avoid this kind of softwares.
