Page rank from social bookmarking

Some time ago I stumbled on blog www[.]caroline-middlebrook[.]com/blog/do-follow-social-bookmarking-sites/ with social bookmarking sites. Blogger listed 20 bookmarking sites and asserted that these sites were very well to improve PR. I am interested in improving PR so make a dicision to test these sites for the purpose of PR.

    What did I do?
    1. Make requests to google for how many pages indexed from resource by google. For example www[.]spurl[.]net. I request site:www[.]spurl[.]net and look for indexed user pages, user bookmarks and tags. Generaly bookmarking sites build user pages like www[.]mister-wong[.]com/user/PRBNet, user bookmarks like www[.]mister-wong[.]com /users/7142790/ and tags like www[.]mister-wong[.]com/tags/education/. If google indexed many pages such as mentioned above it is a good sign. Because even the best sites which have poor google index are nothing for our page rank. No indexed page is nothing for our PR. Sometimes I discovery many indexed pages with ugly URL like that ….anything/anything.php?anything=anything&anything=anything
    2. On the next step I enter on the searched pages and verify if resource uses nofollow expression with bookmark links. I am interested in dofollow links and links without any expression only. Nofollow is PR-maker death.

    What did I catch?

    www[.]mister-wong.com PR8
Great site! Google indexes pages very fast. Your user page and bookmarks are indexed in 1-3 days. User page has not nofollow parameter. But tag and bookmark pages have this parameter in some places. Make many users and enjoy. This site is good for PR.

    www[.]spurl.net PR6
This site is very famous but more nothing. Google doesn’t want to index this site at all. Google has about 500 pages in his index only. Nofollow parameter doesn’t exist. This site is not of interest of PR-makers.

    www[.]backflip.com PR6
Another my disappointment next to www.spurl.net. This site is organized as a quantity user directories with their bookmarks. Site is indexed by google well. Nofollow parameter doesn’t exist. But all bookmark links from this site pass through itself. For example, the bookmark link is formed as www[.]backflip.com/perl/go.pl?url=25021528. This link directs to the bookmark with the help of redirection. So this site is nothing for improving PR.

    www[.]feedmarker.com PR6
    www[.]linkagogo.com PR5
    www[.]mylinkvault.com PR5
    spotback[.]com PR5
    www[.]oyax.com PR5
All these sites are good for PR. No nofollow parameter, good google indexing, high PR. Use them.

    www[.]connectedy.com PR5
I don’t know what happened. But google has tiny index from the site. About 300 pages only. Bookmark links pass the site very quickly. So google doesn’t keep pace with it. The site is nofollow free. I can’t recommend this site for improving PR.

    www[.]a1-webmarks.com PR4
I don’t understand how google indexes it. There are 10900 indexed pages on the first goole result page. But google gives me only 368 indexed pages from the site at the end. Nofollow option doesn’t exist. Site URLs like that ….anything/anything.php?anything=anything&anything=anything. It’s no good. Maybe anybody knows what happened?

    www[.]chipmark.com PR?
Site redirected to https. Google index is very poor about 300 pages only. I suppose this site doesn’t help to PR-makers.

    www[.]pressreleasebureau.com
It’s not bookmarking site. Sorry for my weakness. :) It is mine. Online press release distribution service. I try to make the site good for PR, follow links and right anchor text from press release bodies. I and my team make an effort and work hardly to become the site in right condition.

    P.S.
Make many users in bookmarking sites and submit bookmarks from different user accounts. Submitting the same urls from different users is good too. I don’t want to explain for what. But it’s followed from famous page rank algorithm. If who does’t know it go to Wikipedia.

    P.P.S
If you are interested in this post, please add me forum reputation. I am tiredness by drawing square brakets in urls. And we continue our research bookmarking sites and other page rank deliciouses.

No just use some software like SENuke to automate the submission process and you will be able to build some links quickly. From my own experience such links will help only in low competitive niches. For anything more serious you will need quality links from "real" sites.

^ Yeah I will have to go with Zexy on this one, the actual link power that comes from these sites is nowhere near what the homepage states, the internal linking structure is poor due to the massive amount of content that exists on them. They should be used for promotion more than link building, and even that is futile for most niches.

Thanks for the information, very interesting. I use social bookmarking primarily for deep links to actual pages/posts.

Good information. Thank you for testing all these sites and sharing your results, rather than just adding another bookmark list to the forum. Because of you I can save time by cutting a few useless bookmark sites from my list.

Right. There are some methods. Use proxy, bookmark exchanges, asking friends. But social bookmarking sites usually tolerate many bookmarks from the same user. But it's another story. I have not had ban experience till today. I think because don't bookmark many pages.

Maybe Anybody tell his bookmarking story?

Users really navigate through the overwhelming amount of Web-based information in the Internet from bookmarking sites but the same topics as a rule. So If you sell helicopters bookmark sites hardly help to cater good traffic. But political scandals will attract huge traffic through bookmarks.

    www[.]reddit.com PR8

Links from pages have not nofollow parameter. Google index is huge about 3,590,000 pages. The site allowes to submit new bookmark every 7 minutes. It is annoying restriction. I suppose this site is one of the oldest bookmark sites and is good for Google pr. But submitting is hard in view of 7 min delay.
