Hey guys i started a new blog recently on blogger, this is the first blog I've ever made, so does anyone have any ideas on promoting blogs? So far I listed it on digg and on stumbleupon, any other ideas?
Listing it on digg,and stumbleupon are good places to start.Participate in online forums just like this one to bring more exposure to it.
Hey Joe, Have you tried article marketing? It works really well. I have used the bum marketing method, and it's a great way to get attention to your blog. Also you may want to try Feedburner.com. You can create a feed that you can submit to hundreds of RSS directories. Social bookmarking is important too. There are a bunch of them like delicious, digg, stumbleupon, mixx, propeller. Ping it too, Feedburner has a built in feature that will ping your blog every time you update it. Good Luck, Carmen
start being active and commenting on a heap of blogs! This will guarantee you great traffic but make sure your comments add value to the post!
listen to what richkid said, leave comments on others' blog and you will soon notice that others will visit your blogs
OK, firstly I would tell you to ditch Blogger. Although you might get ranked well in Google (because they own Blogger), you'll get no type in traffic, and people often think of Blogger blogs as spam blogs, so it isn't really worth it. If you're serious about making money from blogging, then you wont mind spending around $20 per year on hosting and a proper domain. I mean, you should be making at least double that in a month! Secondly, I'll reitterate what richkid says, and suggest that you post on other people's blogs with your URL in the URL box. This will only get you decent traffic if you are posting on busy blogs, and also if you post quality comments. After all, no one will visit a site if all they can write is 'yh nice post'... Article marketing is great, especially for blogs. If you can make some unique posts, or post extracts from your posts, onto a busy article directory site (putting your link at the bottom), then you're bound to get a decent amount of traffic from that. Basically, it's hard work. You can always buy links and banner spaces on similar blogs, but that costs so clearly isn't as good (), but if you can afford it then I recommend buying.
