Hey everyone, recently I tested out a method of improving traffic to an adsense site. It happend to work out very well and so I would like to share the information with you. I recently started promoting a Paintball niche blog www.stickypaintball.com and I wanted to build more traffic to the site, so I put up the script that is in my signature link and I linked up the script to the homepage of my blog. So what happens is a bunch of visitors get pulled into the site from the video script which generates its own traffic throgh keywords and then the visitors click on the "Home" link which is in the sidebar and it takes them back to the main page of the blog where I can make money from adsense clicks or affiliate sales. I recently switched the "Home" link back to point to the video page to test if my CTR and CPC is higher on the videos page or the blog page. I will update when I get my findings from this test as well.
Not a that good idea. People that click advertisements on your paintball blog after getting redirected from the adsense site will only produce false clicks. False clicks result in lower conversion rate for the advertisers and in consequently smart pricing by google, which means 2 cent per click.
Why do the clicks from the blog become false clicks? I am not using any type of re-direct method or anything that forces them to the blog, they just get sent there when they click on "Home". Is this the same as if I were to pull in visitors from site A and then send them to site B where they click on adsense ads, would that be false clicks as well?
The problem is that the people get redirected from niche a to niche b. However, the people are only interested in niche a and not in b. So if they click the advertisements they will most likely buy thing because they simply do not care about niche b. Some of the clicks are false-clicks, just because they did not know what to click to get back to the other site (just an example). Those people will not buy anything on the website where they get redirected after clicking the advertisement. Google notices that the Return of Investment goes down for the advertiser because he pays for the clicks but gets nothing in return. A consequence is that google will smart price you. You will not longer get decent money from the ads, only around 1-5 cent per click. I have been smart priced several times, trust me, you don't want that to happen to you.
Violating AdSense TOS = big no no. And I'd much rather you read the TOS before asking which rule you're breaking.
