I have 66 domains in different niches and domain extensions. Most of them are fully developed, other half developed, some domains needs get developed very soon and some are just sitting there for offers. Each website has its own purpose. I try to monetize each website with an affiliate product(s) or/and advertisement(s) according to what it gives more value to visitors so it converts better.
Thank everybody for sharing how many domain you have and what you do with them. It is very interesting and I have learn a lot from you. Here I summarize: A) Park domains: Park at whypark to earn money from ads --> whypark solution is to provide your domains with hosting and auto generate content for you. You need to pay $99.99 to host 100 domains. --> this idea is not bad for pp who do not have time to develop their domains. They can park there and hope search engine will think their domains have fresh content and increase pagerank. B) Develop domains: manually develop, write content, write articles... It take time but very effective in earning. I also take this approach to develop my main domains --> I start to write articles and submit to article directory everyday. C) Autopilot domains: Similar to park at whypark, but you need a tool to autopost to your domains. I take this approach. Just to share with you, after 2 weeks working very hard, I come out with 2 autopilot solutions: 1) autopilot posting to wordpress --> this solution for free hosting that have MySQL 2) autopilot posting to flat file system blog --> this solution for free hosting that does not have MySQL Now, I am very busy to setup all my domains to run on autopilot at free hosting. D) Do nothing with domains: No time, no energy, give up, just sit there and wait for renewal bill. PS: If you have less than 20 domains, you can take my approach to host your autopilot domains at free hosting. If you have more than 20: 100+, 200+ you can buy unlimited hosting service for 3.95 per month to host all your domains there and run autopilot. It cheaper than you host at whypark.
I can not remember renewal and drop domain procedures correctly. But some thing like this will happen if you do not renew your domain: 1) your domain is due for renewal 2) if you do not renew on expire date -> your domain will not be accessed and appear in the expire list for a few weeks (I can not remember how many weeks) -> waiting for owner to renew --> it is to save owner from loosing their domain just because they forgot to renew on time. 3) after few weeks sitting on the expire list, if owner still not renew --> release domain for other to register.
$100 once vs. 3.95 per month...hmm That means that after 25 months your solution is more. And when there's a price increase a year from now because they're giving away "unlimited" space/bandwidth? But yeah, $3.95 a month isn't bad.
Hi man, It seems that all of you have a lot of domains but do not have time to develop it. Why park here and there to earn few cents from park company? Try my solution, if you have money but do not have time, buy me a beer I will install fresh content for your domain. check it http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1132618
<<< I have 200+ only few of them are used and rest not used yet >>> Why don't you choose the best domain name among 200+ and buy me a beer to install fresh content for you? <<< I have 3 and I'm getting more next weekend no time this week >>> No time? Don't work so hard. If you work so hard you will not have time for family. No time but have money --> buy my a beer. Don't work yourself --> DP member need to help each other. he he. .
Just 2. My public sales site, and my private forum. Both generating revenue in the millions of dollars USD per year.
If you don't renew your domain each year, you will lose it and anyone else can then buy it for themselves. Currently on 8. Determined not to buy any more until I have some form of content on all of them.
