Maybe someone can help me out here. I’ve had a blog on blogspot.com for almost a year and I’ve never experienced any problems until a couple of days ago. At that time, I started getting the little “code box†asking me to enter a code before I post. This is fine with me, but when I clicked the “more information†link, it said their robot suspect there might be spam on my blog and they said a human would have to review my blog before I could post again without the little “confirmation boxâ€. The page that came up said that I most likely wasn’t a spammer since I was reading that page and pretty much apologized for any inconvenience. I sent the message to them to go ahead and take a look at my blog because I wasn’t doing any spamming. My question is, does anyone know what cause their system to suspect non spamming blogs as possible spam? I have a guess, but that is all it is at this time. I usually write two or three entries into my blog per day, but I’ve been on vacation the past week so I have written about 10 per day. Is it probable that they keep tabs on how many times per day each blog is updated and if a blog gets out of its normal pattern then it sends up a red flag? I read somewhere recently about some folks who wrote scripts that ran continually on blogspot.com that did nothing but set up new blogs and fill them with spam content. If this is indeed true, it would explain the concern they might have with even establish blogs getting out of their posting comfort zone. I’m not concerned at all about a review and maybe it will be a good thing if someone other than a machine takes a look at what I’ve been working on the past year. The little “confirmation box†and the page it took me to were just a little bit concerning and I hope someone from there stops by soon so I’m not living under some kind of “spam cloudâ€. Anyone else had a human review? If so, how long did it take them to stop by? Thanks for any advice.
markhutch, you've got the right reasons there. There are blogs that actually use an automated system to post every few minutes (after say an interval of every 15 minutes). I was searching for some information on SERPs the other day and came across a similar blog, which had a new post every 15 minutes. If you use yahoo mail, you might have experienced something like this there also. I started getting a confirmation message that uses image based character matching before my mails were actually sent. Everythings back to normal again now
Thank you for the information. It's no big deal to enter those characters in that box if it helps them prevent spam. That's a "win-win" situation for everyone.
No need to apologize. I took it as a complement! Kind of like getting asked for your ID when purchasing an "adult beverage" at a restaurant when you're much older than 21.
