Google has released a a SEO starter guide you all really should read it if you want to improve your seo on your website. You can download it from the link below its basic stuff but really well written. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/11/googles-seo-starter-guide.html
They screwed up and contradicted themselves, in this guide they say to rewrite URL's with keywords because it's much more friendlier to humans and spiders yet on the 22nd September in the Webmaster Central blog they stated: In other words they just feed whatever BS they feel like at the time, truth is their algo is so buggy you can do everything right and still disappear from the results.
It's 22 page in PDF.I have read it.It is good guideline release by google below is url http://www.google.com/webmasters/docs/search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf
Great info thanks...I will take a look, but I think Erick (LinkBliss) is right about the "don't do this, don't do that" but if Google says don't and it helps, so be it.
Thanks for sharing that. It is good info for those just starting out. It can also point out things we know but don't always do.
This is pretty much what I expected from Google. They have been saying similar things for ages but people still don't listen then they wonder why they get peanalised.
I read it...nothing new...the only thing I ignored is the "bread crumb" linking. I think my site is easy enough to navigate...right? I may revisit this later.
