there might be so many reasons inside google why they give so many high quality product at no cost and only the google management knows this strategy but accordingly to my understanding, one of them is they are different from microsoft completely - microsoft protects and sell most everything while google opens and give free of charge to... the question where their earnings come from is also hard to answer...

It would be Google OS. I received an email with some pics of it. so i think it would be another big thing where google search is embedded in every function and it will increase the penetration of google search.. to keep them market leader.
before launching anything new they should try to manage the old failures. Like Chrome was badly rejected by people. First I think they should try to fix that and then launch something new.

So far we have talked about few things.. 1. Google Os, that could be next big thing.. not officially announced. 2. Google Chrome.. a failure which should be fixed... What next... Antivirus?.... I have come to know that google is tied up with motorola with it's android mobile operating system.
Add me to the list of people who think they will be adding their own OS. It was only a matter of time, I remember 2.5 years ago, they already had their own OS for internal use...

waah..but it (the Google OS) isn't available to public yet.. maybe top secret FBI stuff crap..waiting for their own OS i start to think about Google Chrome that sometimes crashes when i open multitabs.. Well hope the interface is very Google Chrome like!
I think the roll-out of personal search will be the big news for 2009. This is why Google is giving away all this stuff, so you get logged into Google and then they can track your search habits. What this means is that each individual will get a slightly different result for the same search term based on their location and past search habits. This is happening now, but I suspect it will become more widespread. This will drive people in SEO nuts
What is the technology behind Google Earth? Do they have their Own satellite to keep watch on the world? When we search for location on google earth, is this the live picture or its an archive picture?
