I found a niche with only 19000 pages in search results, $3-$7 cpc and 21000 searches per monthly. I put up a blogger blog, some unique articles and adsense ads this morning. I got 34 uniques so far and 4 clicks but, only $1.31. Since I have never done adsense this math does not make sense to me. Is this normal?.... I mean at $3 cpc google is only giving %10 is that the average? Can one of you adsense tell me something! should I be happy or sad?
if 34 ip --> $1.31, then 1000 ip --> $300 your CTR is incredibly high if it keeps going on like this.
The prices you see for cpc are for google search and premium network (aol, etc) number 1 position. Adsense partners get served ads from the content network. Content network prices are always lower, usually much lower, due to lower conversion, quality of traffic, click fraud, etc. Many large advertisers won't touch the content network, and if they do, they bid far less for clicks. A $3 cpc on google search might only run 25 cents on the content network, which is also subject to smart pricing. If you have a high quality site, you can also get placement targeted ads (advertisers that want to include your site) and this can increase your earnings. I have something like 40 advertisers targeting some of my sites and its had a big impact on earnings.
That's good already. If I got the same clicks as you, I usually got less than 30 cents due to the country my visitors in.
