Do we need a license to take a video in a town centre on a mobile phone? This was the response to a guy taking a video on his mobile phone. Is it really an offence? See the post and video here Thanks Brian
The police can't stop people from taking photos or video in public places, they are misusing a terrorizing law that would be kicked out of any law courts, this kind of thing never happens in Newcastle or Sunderland, even when filming with Gas masks and NBC suits a few months ago in the Newcastle city center no police stopped us from filming.
You might just have a point. I phoned the local police station to ask if I need permission to take some pictures in the town. The police replied, no. Maybe the policeman in the video was looking for something to do. Thanks Brian
Print a copy of this UK Photographers Rights PDF, if the police ever stop you taking photos show them this. http://www.sirimo.co.uk/media/UKPhotographersRights.pdf
That's one of the rare case I ever heard... I think it's infringementon rights of the people in a Democratic country..
