how can I compress a graphic so it takes up less storage

    I have some screenshots that take up a lot of storage. Is there a free tool, website or software I can use to compress them to take up less storage?

    The quickest and fastes twat I use is with IrfanView (Freeware Viewer)

    Conver the image to JPG and then use save as and click options ...
    turn on remove unused colors and save at about 80% quality.

    I find around 80% is good for photos and I can go to around 70-75% for websites ....

    This gets me often from 300-400kb to 20-50kb.

    seriously though... i find acdsee easier to use than irfanview for batch editing.

    This can be done easily in almost any image viewer (including the free ones). I am using XnView and it has no problems with batch processing.
    It's just a matter of personal preference.
